Ah, February. Remember when you were a child, and you bought those packets of Valentine Day cards, you know, the real cutesy ones that you would share with your classmates? Oh,oh, and what about the hearts that were cut out of white or red paper during the fun class? The ones where you cut designs in them? So, today, I thought that if I can do it, I'll post something of love till Valentines, maybe longer if I can find enough stuff! Just little things that remind me of something, someone, whatever of love.
Here is a little something I found today at the antique store. A crocheted heart that I placed on the red/white polka dot runner.
The hunt is on for things of love!!

Hi Ulrike,
What a lovely heart you found today! I enjoyed reading your memories of Valentines day. In Holland Valentines day is becoming more and more popular. At school teenagers give each other roses and secret cards are being send. When I was in my teens we didn't do anything about....so no sweet memories ;-)!!
I am looking forward to your others 'Love' posts!
Lieve groet, Madelief
Wonderful! In Europe Valentine's day is very much a 'one card per person' day - we don't give or make things for anyone but the love of our loves, but I do remember making cut out paper hearts when I was at school in the States! I will enjoy seeing the loving items you come up with.
Great to "meet" you!;-)
Welcome back!!
We haven´t celebrated Valentine Day that long (think about 15 years or so....). We have sort of "adopted" the tradition from you (your country).;-)
But it´s really a nice day to celebrate!
What a sweet old doily!
Great find -- someone put a lot of love into working that little piece.
Happy February!
Cass
Liebe Ulrike,
zu meiner Zeit "grins" gab es den Valentinstag noch nicht in dieser Art. Heute ist es auch etwas anders geworden.
Das Herz ist superschön. Danke für das Foto.
Lieben Gruß, Petra
Dear Ulrike,
what a lovely little heart doily. You will find a nice place for it surely. I love Valentine day, because the spring is no longer far away.

I so remember the red construction paper hearts cut and pasted on white doilies during my school days. Nice find in the crochet heart. The duct taped egg “cracked” me up! :-)
I do remember those little valentine cards we exchanged with our classmates. And the mothers would bring cupcakes and candy hearts. Those are nice memories.
