The Miracle Girl

Have you ever had a time where you wish it had never happened, or that it has been such a blur you feel like you have had a bad dream and want to wake up? So has been my life this week.
As you know from previous posts that my daughter had pneumonia. She finally got better from that and she and her husband took a trip to Panama City Beach, something that they had planned all year. The morning that they were leaving she took a stumble and it jolted her very hard. She thought at first that she had re-injured her cracked ribs. Pouring down sweat and a feeling of something wrong along with the nausea and pain she just wanted to get home. So a six hour car ride later she was back home.
Thinking it was cracked ribs she had her pain pills which so so worked, and then she took an ibuprofen which helped more. By Tuesday she was still very scared and I took her to the doctor. Our doctor had tests ordered and then had us come back to see him so he could re-check her vitals. Her oxygen was low and her pulse was racing at 150! She had been like this for 3 days already! He admitted her to a local hospital where after doing ultra sounds they found blood clots in her lungs!
What a shock for us!! He was amazed that she was even still with us. His wife is also a doctor and whom we had seen when my daughter had her pneumonia. When she came in to see her she called her the miracle girl. With the stumble, the 6 hour drive, and the few days at home, she told us that her body's will to live is very strong.
While we were at the doctor's office a very old, nice man came up to us and asked to pray with us. He told us it was going to be ok. Some time when all of this is over I am going to find him and thank him again.
So my blog posts will be half way put on hold. My daughter has her lap top at the hospital to keep her mind off of things for the moment so I may get on there now and then. I am exhausted, but the short breaks I take revive me long enough to keep going.
So, my blog posting will be slower for the moment, but I will check back.
Till then.....

Hi Ulrike,

Just read your blog....What an awful thing to happen. Your daughter must have a very good guardian angel. I hope she will recover soon!! I understand you will not be blogging that much in the days to come. Your daughters health is much more important! I wish you both all the best!

Take care! Love Madelief

Ulrike, I'm so very sorry to hear about this setback in your sweet daughter's health. I was hoping she was well again but this sounds quite frightening for you all. I pray things improve for her very soon - she, and you, will be in my thoughts daily.

Please keep us informed best you can and know we are pulling for her.

Stay strong.......and be sure to get YOUR rest too!
Love, Mary.

Hello all my mom's blog friends!
This is her daughter Lori. I'm not on here a lot but I do look at my mom's blog and wanted to send a big THANK YOU out to everyone who has commented and prayed and said kind words. I am doing much better each day...my only complaint is I am so impatient and want to do everything at once! I know it all takes time...thanks again and I love my mom!
