A little of this

Last night brought a little cold rain, sleet, and a light dusting. The morning awakens to a little of this

and I found this....peeking their heads out, of course much too soon

and the rays of sunshine streaming down

will slowly melt it all away.

Oh it was such a disappointment waking up this morning...we don't ask for much in the way of snow...but this was just terrible. :( I posted a new post on my blod showing some pics from the snow last year up by work...even all the wrecked cars looked pretty!

Beautiful pictures Ulrike!
Not related to this post, but here's the sourdough starter I've been using. I've made it many times and it's always been successful.
Mix in plastic or glass container, never metal!
2 cups water, 1 tsp active dry yeast, 2 cups bread flour, 3tbs sugar.
Stir until smooth and cover loosely. Place in warm spot (I just leave it sitting out in my kitchen) for 3-5 days. Stir twice a day. The starter should have bubbles on the surface and begin to smell slightly sour, but still fresh. Liquid will gather on top, just stir back into the mixture before using. After the 5 days I keep my starter in the fridge, still loosely covered. Every time you use some, replenish with 1 cup flour and 1 cup water. You should use some at least once a week. If not, remove 1 cup and discard and then feed again as mentioned above. This process can be kept up indefinitely. If mold forms, skim of and stir well. (So far that never happened to me) If the starter turns pink, orange or any strange color, discard. I've heard you can actually freeze starter, but have never tried it before. Might just have to remove some and see if it really works.
Sorry this was such a lengthy comment...

I haven't heard from Lori but did go to her blog and left a little comment. Hope both she and you will stay warm this weekend.

Congratulations on your upcoming Birthday Ulrike - may this be a wonderful year.

Yes, I have Spring bulbs peeking through too - they usually do OK thoughnand still bloom later.

Hi Ulrike,

Is this the view of your garden? It is so pretty! I like the old wagon. You asked me about the chandelier in Annebelle's room. I bought it at the IKEA. It's made of metal and coloured glass in aqua colours. It shines beautifully! It is good to see that you got some snow too. Nature looks so pretty with a white layer. Enjoy it!!

Lieve groet & a lovely weekend!
