Signs

I loved all the ornate signs in Germany. It is so different and really stands out. There were signs advertising so many things such as restaurants, bars, antiques, etc.. Here are some of the signs that I took pictures of which I found interesting.

A closer look at this one. I believe it has the most detail. Notice them stirring the pot, and the lady and gentleman at the table!

I know a long, long, time ago they use to advertise like that here. I wish they still would because I believe it has a lot of charm to it!

Those are really lovely. I've seen a few similar to those in France but not as intricate.

Hi Ulrike,

Thanks for the sweet comment on my blog! I put my grey/green pumpkin on the balcony and it looks beautiful there with the other plants. I like your German signs. It is really a piece of craftsmanship. I always enjoy looking at the sign in England as well. They are different, but beautiful too. Sometimes even, like the German ones, a bit fairy tale like! Have a good weekend!

Take care, Madelief

I went to Germany many years ago to visit my sister who was living near Heidelburg. I loved the food, the little towns and the markets in the town squares!

You're right about those signs. They have so much more character than what is used here.

I always search out shop signs when in a new place - love the art displayed and try to remember to look up for delightful hanging signs.
