Town scenes

My daughter and I did not have much time to really walk around the town of Highlands, but here are a few pictures from the area.
These are the two oldest inns.

Is this not cute?!

This is the window scene from the art gallery. I wish I could have gotten a better picture, but I loved the old lady scene!

A very artsy flower shop!

There was so much more to explore, but not enough time. Late in the afternoon, looked like snow, temperature dropping, better get home. Turns out it never snowed after all...just rained!

Hi Ulrike,

I am very grateful with you as a blogfriend too! Your reunion sounds like fun to me. The picture of you, your daughter and your grandmother is lovely. You all look very pretty on the photo. You look so young! You could easily have been an elder sister of your daughter :)! I like the window displays in the town. It all looks so festive. I read you are busy too. Everything always seems to concentrate in the last two weeks before Christmas. I still have to do some shopping. Perhaps this evening, but it is bitterly cold outside (-1 degree celsius) and I don't really want to leave our warm house). Have you done all your shopping yet?

Enjoy your day!

Lieve groet, Madelief

Hello Ulrike! Thank you for visiting me and stopping in to say hello. And thanks for sharing this sweet little town.

The legend of the German pickle is something from the American Germans. You can look it up online to read about it. I love the tradition as my family comes from Germany on my father's side but also because my parents nicknamed me Sally Pickles as a little girl. I now am referred to as Miss Pickles the elf by my mother since I love Christmas.

Hugs from Holland ~
