Bloomin' Day

Today was a very cool, slightly rainy day which gave me a chance to get caught up on inside work. We really need the rain which is funny to say after all the rain we had over the winter. I plant (no plan, guess I can't get gardening out of my mind!) on getting caught up with my blog reading although it might take part of today and tomorrow! I know a lot of bloggers have been busy with gardening too so I am anxious to see what everyone has done. I hope I have not missed too much, but by the time I sit down at the computer at night after working outside I could fall asleep, and who knows what keys I would hit!
I thought that I would show you some photos of what is blooming around here now. The azaleas have been slow to come out, but there are some that are blooming for the first time that I have seen here. I believe all that rain had a lot to do with it. Oh, and I thought I'd show you the dogwood tree in the bottom right corner. It has been gorgeous! We have quite a few around here too.

I have some roses blooming now. This yellow rose is the Lady Banks rose, and oh how it has grown in the past year. It has started growing up a tree! I wish that it bloomed all summer, but it is a spring one only.

I am so enjoying seeing all of this color now! So tell me, what is bloomin' your way?

Your flowers are pretty. I finally have azaleas blooming. Mine have been late showing up too. I also have a snowball bush blooming, but other than that not much else is going on. We are having a slow drizzle tonight. We needed the rain badly and I'm happy to see it. Maybe the pollen will be washed away. Carla

Hi Ulrike... everything is so pretty! You have so many things in bloom right now... we are a ways behind you... our flowering pear tree is at it's most glorious right now, and my pink bleeding heart is beautiful... my white bleeding hearts are just starting to bloom... I too have been in the garden alot, and you are right, when you sit down to catch up on blogs, you are very tired! But like you, I love to garden! xoxo Julie Marie

Your garden is so pretty - the colours are beautiful!

My house is a new house and that means are garden is pretty much bare this year :( but we are working on it so hopefully next year there will be more blooms & colour!

In the meantime, I'll enjoy looking at your garden and wishing it was how mine looked like :)

Beautiful photos, Ulrike! Absolutely beautiful! I especially like the yellow roses! You certainly have a green thumb! I know that it is a lot of hard work, BUT I also know you give your flowers lots of love, too! That's where that green thumb comes in.

Thanks for stopping by. It was so good to see a note from you! But I do understand the busyness of this time of year.

Take care!

Love the pink dianthus. I had one very similar a couple years ago but it didn't survive our wet winter.

I've seen Lady Banks on other blogs and just love it. Wish it would grow here.

Hi Ulrike,

I must have missed your last post of the 17th!! There is so much in bloom in your garden. I am a bit jeaulous ;-)! Am I right to see that part of your garden looks like a 'forest garden'? I like it very much. The contrast between the big trees and the bright colours of the Azaleas is very pretty!

Wish you a happy evening!

Lieve groet, Madelief x

Oh, sooooo gorgeous, Ulrike! I cannot believe you have all this beauty around you already! :)

Nothing is blooming at my house yet. The ice is breaking up at the ponds down the road...

Happy day to you!
