Blue and Yellow

I'll be honest, I'm not much of a blue person or pink, but I do have some of it scattered here and there in the house. It is gorgeous and I love to look at it. Outside in the garden is a different story as hydrangeas are one of my favorites, and there are so many pretty pink flowers!! The day I went up to my grandmother's house I took the usual road. However, it has been a while since I have gone up at this time of year. Boy, I never knew what I was missing! I was in a hurry driving up those mountain roads so when I saw this I made a mental note to stop on the way back to take photos. This photo alone is a beautiful sight, and guess what? This place is for sale! Oh to win the lotto!!

A tree lined driveway with beautiful iron gates. (I love taking photos of gates and doors)

The gate has a beautiful design, and check out the rock wall plus the long wooden fence.

Now this is something I had never thought about! I am going to go around and tag all of my yellow daylilies! This looks gorgeous together!!! I do have a blue and yellow quilt in my guest bedroom so why didn't I think of this?!!!!!!

Not only looking at the beauty of this property, and one day I will go back and see if I can check out more of it, but the neighbors have horses!

Is this not pretty? Who knows what is beyond close to the house as this is only at the front gate!!

Someone has to love hydrangeas as much as I do!

Yes, most definitely, I have to find those yellow daylilies! Come to think of it, I'll probably need more hydrangeas too!! A gardeners work is never done.....

Wow - those ARE spectacular! Maybe you can sell enough photos to make the downpayment ;-)

Dear Ulrike, unfortunately, wonderful hydrangeas, with me do not want to grow they so well and blossom. The earth is not right for them. Lilies are also wonderful, mine are mauve so light blue and were allowed delightfully. Lots of love Here it has, by the way, also more than 30 °.

My english is frozen. I hope you understand my comments.

That does look very pretty! I would love to have the space to plant more hydrangeas, but I think I'll just have to be happy with the three bushes we have. I could try and add a few daylilies though...

The daylilies and hydrangea are a wonderful combination.

I like that gate too and the stone post and wall. Very picturesque.

I have a few yellow daylilies by my huge blue hydrangeas in front of the porch - they do look good, except this year in the terrible heat, the hydrangea blooms are fading fast which is unusual and makes me sad!

This home must have gorgeous gardens if the entrance is that pretty!

I'm in New Hampshire visiting Bob's hometown to celebrate the
4th and then his b'day on the 5th. Very hot here too - 95 tomorrow so the parade will be a bit sticky!!

Heading up to Montreal and Quebec next week, perhaps a wee bit cooler there!
Happy holiday to you all.

I love that blue and yellow combination of daylily and hydranea. The gate is beautiful, and gives a secret garden atmosphere to the property.

You are right, those yellow daylilies and blue hydrageas do look very striking together...what a lovely property! Wish I could afford to live there.

Maybe I will start buying a lottery ticket once in a while - can't win the lottery when you never buy a ticket, right?

Hope you had a great July 4th celebration!

Liebe Ulrike,
Das sind wunderschöne Bilder. Hortensien gehören mit zu meinen Lieblingblumen. So ein schönes Blau...

Same here! I use blue and yellow in my garden but not in my house. I also have a thing for doors, windows and all things iron. I take photos of gates, fences and lampposts wherever we go. My own iron gate is going to move with us to our new house. :-)

Hugs from a very hot Holland ~
