Rainy day project

Since Hurricane Ida is raining down buckets on us today, and of course, I waited until today to go to the grocery store and run some errands therefore I look like, well, let's just say it is not a good hair day!! So I really wasn't much in a mood to do too much inside except maybe drink a cup of tea and read a good book.
Then I remembered these candle holders that my daughter and I had bought on clearance for $4! Kind of blah looking now.

So I jazzed it up a bit with paint

They don't look too bad now!

I realized seeing this picture how it matches the colors of the leaves outside! Well, guess you know I do like fall!!

I should have bought more of them....they would have made great gifts!

Thank you for your sweet comment, sugar. I think she'll be surprised when she receives the prints in the mail. She's been ill for a long time and very young too.

Just a word of advice: When taking the photos up close as in the one with the item in your hand, set the setting to "macro", close up or whatever makes the picture "closer." A common little icon is a picture of a flower. I'd show you but I can't take a picture of my camera!! LOL

A tutorial I have is here and I sure hope the whole URL shows for you. If not, email me from my blog and I'll give it to you, honey.

I deleted my previous comment since it would not let me put in that I changed my picture! Thanks for the tutorial Connie! I don't know how well I did, but it does look better!!

They look great. I do no decorating whatsoever for fall so I admire people who do.

Hi Ulrike,

It is a bit of a dark day in Holland as well. Luckily the rain has stopped now. I like your candles! Like me your are very much into bargains! I always love fleamarkets, bargain corners, yard sales etc...

Fijne dag! Lieve groet, Madelief

Your candle holders are lovely!
I hope the hurrican will soon be over so that you perhaps can have some nice fall days before the winter comes!
Thanks a lot for your congratulations and your comment on my blog, I am glad that you are enjoying it.
Kind regards from Germany, Monika
