Rainy Day.... Blues Chickens & Cats

I've got the suds....Sponge Bob Square Pants Suds.  That's what hubby calls it as he should know he had it first.  If you have ever seen that cartoon where Sponge Bob gets a cold/virus, and is blowing bubbles that is our household at the moment.  Plus it is raining outside which I guess is better than the bad snow/ice that the rest of the country is getting, but it sure can make you feel blue when you got the suds!
So I have not felt much like blogging  for a week now.  I get onto the computer, stare at it, and then back off again.  Do you ever wonder why we do that?  Just sit and stare at something?  I guess you could call it a mental pause!
Even though today is raining, this past weekend was simply gorgeous!  We had almost 70 degree weather, 20C/grad for my European bloggers, which made it oh so nice.  My parents came over for a visit on Saturday, and we did spend both days raking, doing yard work, etc..  Hmmmm, I guess that accounts for all the soreness I'm feeling!
The photo above was taken during the Asheville blogger weekend last year so it suits my blue Monday.  I guess now I'll go make another cup of tea, my cure all!, I'm debating about exercising this morning, but I still need to walk up the hill to feed the chickens.  Sure hope they are not turning blue today too!

Good Morning Ulrike! I hope you shake off those blues. I usually get the blues this time if the year too. Especially after a nice weekend, when you think spring only to have it turn cold again...

I still think about how much fun I had when you all came to visit me in Asheville last fall. I am glad you are sharing more pictures of it.
Hugs,
Penny

I like the term 'sponge bob square pants suds'. My throat has been hurting since Friday and I've seriously considered going to the doctor today. No fever or other symptoms though... Our temps were in the 60's over the weekend and it was just glorious to be able to go outside and hang out. Today it's back to rain...
Hope you'll feel better soon!

Awww, Ulrike, I'm so sorry that you aren't feeling well. The rainy day for you though will give you a chance to just catch up on some rest.

I'd love to have had your 70 degree weather over the weekend. It would have made quick work of all this snow of ours!

Hello to your chickens for me. ;)

Liebe Ulrike! I am so sorry you are feeling under the weather - literally and figuratively! It is raining here, too, today and I am on the couch blogging with a nice cup of tea. That makes everything seem much better right away... Hope you feel better soon!!! Love, Silke

It is a little dreary here this morning which accounts for my blue mood. Your picture captures the feeling perfectly. We,too, were close to 70 yesterday. It was perfect. Thank God for giving us a little taste of what is to come. Hang in there! Carla

Hi Ulrike,

I was wondering about the title when I saw it appear on my blog, but now I understand! Ah Sponge Bob, my daughters enjoy watching him and his friends as well. Twenty degrees.......oh that sounds sooooo good! Could you please send it over to Holland. It's +2 here at the moment :-(, with the wind it feels terribly cold.

I hope you will feel better soon! I have days like that as well. Luckily they never last long.

Take care!

Veel lieve groetjes,

Madelief xox

Hello Ulrike, ich wünsche dir ganz viel Gesundheit!!!!
Wo liegt Buchholz? Wir haben hier auch ein Buchholz in der Nähe meiner Stadt. Schreibe mir bitte, wo der Sohn deines Cousins lebt.
Vielleicht ist es ja wirklich in meiner Nähe.

Also werde schnell gesund!!!

Liebe Grüße
Rosine

I hope you are feeling better now, Ulrike. I love your description of a mental pause - I shall certainly use that phrase.

Sure hope you get feeling better soon, and YES! Rain is much better than snow and ice! (trust me on that one...ugh!)
I must be in Mental-Pause most of the time; it's a wonder I ever get a blogpost up! LOL! I do a lot of the staring, whether is is sitting and, or standing and....wondering what the HECK I walked in the room for! Have a feeling it is not going to improve with age either.... ;-)
Take care and rest. I'm off for a thaw-out before the next round of plowing.

XXOO~~♥

Hope you are feeling much better by now dear. Yes, that one very warm day was a treat - I have a post up about my visit to the duck pond with Jasmin - now it's cold again and we're due freezing rain tonight and early morning. I have a doctor appt. so may have to make Bob drive me - I DISLIKE driving on ice!!!

Be well - and don't share with Craig!
Hugs - Mary
