Dancing on ice

It has been way too long since I have blogged. So tonight I have sat myself down in front of this computer to try and do some catch up blogging, and returning emails!  We spent some time in Florida helping an uncle and aunt out, and while there the weather got really cold......in Florida!  Not to mention how cold it has been here in the south.  We also had a tornado go zipping by about 10 miles or so (as the crow flies) away from our house.  Getting to the subdivision where the damage was done would take about 15 minutes or so, but thank goodness no one was injured or killed.
Lately it has been, cold, cold, cold!  A few snowflakes, rain, snowflakes, and last night quite a bit of ice out on the roads.  People spent the night in their cars, and they said even a fire truck that was responding to a wreck got iced in!  Winter doesn't even begin till the 21st!

This is my little trough pond as I call it that hubby built for me so I could grow extra pond plants.  There is usually water coming out of the top, but not this day.  It looks like they are dancing on ice!

Somewhere in there are quite a few large fish.  They have managed so far with this crazy weather!  That is it for now.  I'll try to be back real soon, and I need to catch up on my blog reading too.  I've missed you guys!!  Hope all of you are staying warm and cozy!

Hi Ulrike, Glad all is well and I know the month of December is really hard to keep up with. It's been cold here in the Villages too. Take care.

Nice to hear from you, Ulrike. I like your new profile picture!

We had one day of ice, but not as much as you are showing there...and today was warm, short-sleeve weather again! Darn! After that long, hot summer I really am looking forward to a good, long freeze - but that won't happen here...

Happy holidays, Merry Christmas and all the best to you and yours!

Doris, The snow picture was taken last winter when we got 4+ inches here. That poor wagon has been through a lot! Thanks for the comment on my profile picture. I've had my other one up for too long! That one was taken this past January on my birthday, hence the cake in hand!!!

Thank heavens y'all are okay. I hate tornado season, which I guess in the south comes in the winter......
Ice is beautiful if you don't have to be out on it. Thankfully (even as much as I have complained---and it's been a lot!)all we have had is snow, other than the first rain, then snow. It transitioned here very easily; I don't know how we missed ice.
That being said, I have not checked the weather for today.....LOL!
Love your background and header photo!!! Missed you too!

Hi Ulrike
We are having some cold weather here too. We are threatened with snow tomorrow and it was minus 6 deg last night. The rabbits are coming inside tonight as the temperature is dropping again tonight. Daisy rabbit has arthritis in one hip, so I think she deserves to be in the warm. Hope you and your family have a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
Best regards
Gill

Liebe Ulrike, sei bitte so gut und zieh den beiden eine Jacke über oder lege ihnen eine Stola um die Schultern.

Hier ist es auch kalt und es soll noch viel kälter werden.

Ganz liebe Grüße von Rosine

Liebe Ulrike, so nice to hear from you.
I think we are having the same weather now as you have, it's very cold, snowing a lot and people are spending their nights in their cars on the "Autobahn"
I hope you are having a wonderful holiday season, Monika

Dear Ulrike,

Glad you are back blogging! Thanks for your email too. I will reply to it soon, but it has been very busy around here with the preparations for Christmas, concerts with my choir, work and appointments. It looks as if everything has to happen before Christmas.

We have heaps of snow in Holland as well. I so hope it will stay for Christmas! I wish you, Craig, Lori and her friend a Merry Christmas! Have fun!

Lots of Love,

Madelief x
