When I took this photo I noticed the pots on the ledge. With the flowers cascading down it makes an interesting picture, but add the pots and it is like wow! Then I am wondering.....why do they have them there?!!!
This is a lovely photo. When I opened your post, I thought, this could not be in the US, and then I saw that it was taken in Strasbourg. When have you been there? I think the pots are there only for decoration, but it looks really lovely. Have a nice day, Monika
What a lovely picture Ulrike. Where was it taken? I see Strassburg on the lower left of the building so I'm assuming it was there. Flowers make everything more beautiful but the Blue and white pots really set it off.
I don;t know why the pots are there, but I sure would enjoy having a couple of them! They make a lovely visual foil for the red of the plants though....great shot!
very interesting! I have no idea why they do have them there and what is inside of them? It looks a bit dangerous at the same time! Very exciting image!/Anja
How are you dear? Hope all is well and that you are looking forward as I am to next month's get together in Asheville. I'm so excited about meeting you.
Lovely pic - only Europe can do this look!
Have you seen the pics of my new little shop at SuzAnna's Antiques? I'm thrilled with how it looks and of course will be shopping for both it and me in Asheville!
What a pretty picture! I live in the near of the alsace region and if I have time (and weather is good) I drive to Alsace. There are many pittoresque villages and I made hundreds of photos. Sometimes I see a window like the one you show us and think that some french people decorate a liitle bit crazy but very pretty.

I don't know why they have them there, but it is a really pretty picture. I have always loved window boxes and "Fachwerk" homes.
I would wonder too! I love this picture!

Hi Ulrike,
Did you take this picture during your holiday last year?
I don't really know why they keep the pots there. The only reason I can think of is 'Just for fun':-)!
Enjoy your day!
Lieve groet, Madelief

And do they worry about them falling? :) They are lovely with the flowers.
They're beautiful, Ulrike!
Have a wonderful weekend.
