Backyard Roses

I love these roses in my backyard.
They are both from my grandmother, the pink one via my mom, and the red one is when my grandmother was pruning so she threw them down the hill.  I promptly gathered the clippings up, took them home, and they grew.  By the way, the red one is still in the pot from our move 7 years ago!  I have got to start taking them out of pots, but they are pretty well rooted by now I would assume. This red one blooms to frost, and I don't know the name of it either.

I am not sure of the name of this pink one.  If anyone knows please tell me.  It might be Belinda's Dream. This rose blooms basically once, and then it is over.  The smell......heavenly!

As you can see it is very tall, and almost makes an arbor.  After it blooms I cut it back as it always snags hubby's cap.  It does grow excellent from cuttings, I have another one up the hill by my daughter. Oh, it also has lovely rose hips too.

I just love these roses!

These are sooooo beautiful---I can literally smell them, along with the richness of the woods and soil.
You are fortunate to have a climate to grow such beauties.
IN MY DREAMS......
Thanks for posting the photos!

Ulrike, your roses are a dream! They must love your climate.
Mine are so slow to start putting out leaves in this cool, wet weather.
The pink and red are beautiful together, especially in that first photo. The pink is so lush and loaded with blooms. And how nice that they came from your grandmother.
I loved seeing your aquarium photos. What a wonderful place!
Looks like you had some fun times with your visitor and showed him some interesting sights.

They sure are pretty. I love the story about how you gathered up the cuttings from your grandmother and now her roses grow in your garden. Those are sometimes the best flowers for us. Great shots of the aquarium! I didn't even know Atlanta has an aquarium. Very nice!

Hello,
Love your roses! I have that pink one too. There are a few growing in my garden - from of old. I haven't figured the name out yet - keep telling myself each year to identify the roses I have in my garden.
Will let you know if I do!

What lovely roses you have...a great family heirloom. Your back yard looks very lush and reminds me of an English Garden with all the pretty roses.

Enjoy your garden and our early summer ;-)

Rosine♥♥♥

Roses are always beautiful, but those of them that came from our parents and grandparents are very special! Wonderful blooms! I hope you don't have a deer visiting your garden and eating fresh grows and sweet buds.
I also thank you for your kind comment on my Germany post! Happy gardening and happy blogging!

Beautiful roses, glad you are getting some rain - yesterday it stormed and poured here just as we finished up a ton of gardening! Trying to catch up with everything dear - thinking of you and have the postcards to send you soon!
